Gibsons has struck a deal with Neal Street Productions to launch a range of jigsaw puzzles based on BBC TV drama Call the Midwife.

The puzzles will depict characters, images and scenery from the popular show and will launch this autumn.

The show premiered on BBC1 in 2011 and reached an average of ten million viewers each week. The drama - set in the 1950s - follows the lives of midwife Jennifer Worth and her colleagues as they care for some of London's poorest families.

Kate Armitage, marketing director at Gibsons, said: "The fantastic and heart-warming memoirs of Jennifer Worth have had the nation gripped.

"Gibsons is known for British, nostalgic, high quality products and this license will fit perfectly with our core values."

Pippa Harris, executive producer of Call the Midwife, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with Gibsons on Call the Midwife puzzles.

"The timeless appeal of jigsaw puzzles is the perfect accompaniment to the series which is going from strength to strength."

Call the Midwife puzzles will be made from 100 per cent recycled board and will join other British classic licensed lines including Downton Abbey, Roald Dahl and Cadbury.
