Gibsons inks Downton Abbey deal

1,000-piece puzzle launch to coincide with release of second series of the ITV drama.

The new jigsaw puzzle is based on the TV period drama, Downton Abbey and is presented as a montage, featuring the characters, scenery and drama. The product aims to offer a sense of nostalgia.

Available in September, the launch will coincide with the release of the second series on ITV this autumn. Made in the UK, the Downton Abbey puzzle joins other licensed titles from Gibsons including The National Trust, Cadbury, Hornby, the RHS and Airfix.

Excluding soaps, the show was the number one drama series on TV in 2010 with 11 million viewers each week.

Set in an Edwardian Country House in 1912, Downton Abbey portrays the life of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them. The relationship between the family and the servants, their secrets, their hopes and dreams captured the imagination of millions.
