In 1919 Harry Gibson sold his card business in order to form H. P. Gibson & Sons, a games company.
In 1940 the company premises and all its manufacturing equipment was destroyed. After the war Robert and Harry Gibson (jnr.), sons of the founder, rebuilt the company and re-established trading.
Now called Gibsons Games, the company is run by the founder's grandson Michael from head offices in Sutton, Surrey. Producing puzzles, games, playing cards and pastimes, it is the oldest British owned company in the industry.
