Gem is increasing its PR and marketing messaging via the means of social networking sites Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In.
Social media gives businesses the opportunity to form personal and on-going relationships with customers, through publishing content to personalised pages on a regular basis and listening to feedback.
Gem will use the mediums to inform customers of key promotions, new supplier information, consumer trends and market data. It will also form part of Gem’s added-value promise, as all supplier offerings will be made readily available to customers and those looking to partner with Gem.
Katie Rawlings, head of marketing at Gem, commented: "The decision to launch onto these platforms has been in discussion for some time but, as demand for our marketing services at Gem is dramatically increasing, it was clear to see it was something we had to do, especially with the peak period almost upon us.
"It will form part of our unique service offering, ensuring that customers are fully up to speed with what is happening at Gem, Gem Logistics, Gem Creative and Gem’s own brand Exspect which will also be launching onto its own pages later in the month."
