A Game of Thrones fan has spent over 150 painstaking hours creating a hand made 3D board game based on the fantasy series.
His efforts were unveiled for the first time at this year’s US gaming convention, GenCon, where crowds gathered to witness Aaron Jenkins’ A Game of Thrones: The Board Game.
Having acquired permission from games publisher, Fantasy Flight Games, Jenkins crafted his 3D recreation of Westeros, hand making and painting its terrain and collection of miniatures.
The outcome of his work is a three-foot by five-foot game, featuring keeps, castles and ships all designed to match their descriptions in the Game of Thrones world.
“The hardest ones [to create] were the ships, because I couldn’t any ships at all that matched the scale that I needed,” Jenkins told Polygon. “I’ve been doing this stuff since I was 13, so making something like this, I know how it goes now.
“The motivating facto was I knew I had people who would play the game with me.”
