Fuhu, creator of the Nabi DreamTab, has launched Morpho Pods, a toy merging physical and digital play.

Children can build Morpho Pods figures and then watch them come to life on the DreamTab.

The new Morpho Pods Dragons Edition allows kids to build different dragons from the How To Train Your Dragon series, including Toothless, Stormfly and Belch, before engaging with them via digital experiences on the DreamTab.

Each Morpho Pods Dragons Edition package contains a small pod that springs open into an interlocking head, body or tail of a dragon that can be connected and kids can mix, match and extend parts of the Dragons figures with over 125 possible combinations.

The range will unlock new How To Train Your Dragon storytelling experiences and games on the DreamTab in the coming weeks.

"Morpho Pods bring kids and parents new rich experiences that are fun, engaging and valuable," said Jim Mitchell, CEO of Fuhu.

"For the first time, kids can play high definition video games, create their own stories, personalise their tablet experience with How To Train Your Dragon characters, all on their tablet with the Morpho Pods, while being able to customize their own dragons in real life, extending the traditional play value of NFC figurine toys."

The Morpho Pods Dragons Edition will debut this month exclusively in Walmart stores in US at a suggested retail price of $7.99.
