Topps has claimed it "couldn’t have predicted" the scale of the success of its latest Star Wars themed trading cards collection, Force Attax Extra.

In its first week on sale, packet sales were the highest recorded across all of the Topps entertainment lines in the past 12 months. A truly amazing achievement!

Force Attax Extra, which launched last month, is the second wave of Star Wars themed trading cards to be launched by Topps, following the Force Attax launch in December 2015.

“We expected the launch of Force Attax Extra to be successful, seeing as it purely reflects Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was a big box office hit,” said Louise Ramplin, head of entertainment marketing at Topps Europe.

“However, we couldn’t have predicted the size of the reaction we have seen from consumers. These amazing retail results prove just how popular Star Wars continues to be with fans, and how hungry these enthusiasts are for collectibles. “
