Flying Gadgets has revealed a raft of new flight modes for the popular DJI quadcopter’s Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 drones.

DJI fans can now engage with a raft of new functions, designed to arm them with ‘easier and more intelligent flight,’ when manning their quadcopters.

New abilities include the ‘follow me’ function, programming the Phantom 3 to follow its operator for a pre-defined distance and the ‘course lock’ system, allowing the Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 drones to fly along a set path.

Other new abilities include ‘waypoint’ which gives users the option of flying and recording a flight path in order to repeat the same route, but with total control of the drones’ camera and orientation as well as ‘point of interest’ letting the drone circle an object to take pictures and footage.

Current owners of the Phantom 3 and Inspire 1 drones can log on to DJI.com to download the latest firmware and update their apps.

“With these updates, the DJI drone ranges are incredibly intuitive and certainly punch above their price tags considering the technology inside.”

DJI units are available to order now from Flying Gadgets.
