We've had Gogo's Crazy Bones, Moshlings and football trading cards, now Floppets is set to become the next big pocket money toy boom, says its creators.

Floppets originally went on sale in New York in January this year, before going on to sell 150,000 to 200,000 units per month.

They are little animal characters that can attach to almost anything, from flip flops to fingers, wrists, necklaces, pencils, shoe laces, back packs and more.

Now they've just hit the UK. And with a price tag of £1.99 each, Floppets say there's no reason why the products can't take off on our shores as well.

"We hope to replicate what's happening in the States over here," Floppets UK and Europe operations director Damien Cahill told ToyNews.

"I think it will be [the next massive kids' craze]. I'm 100 per cent certain that no other toy out there has the versatility we do and at the price point we do.

"Growth in the US has been phenomenal. I’ve seen the reaction Floppets provokes from kids and their parents. It will be the next craze and continue as a brand, far beyond a craze, as our technology develops to keep pace."

Cahill says stock sold out within two weeks of its first delivery to the UK. He says a few celebrity fans have emerged for Floppets, too, including Felicia Day, Seth Green and Eugene Rodenberry.

Cahill works for Floppets UK, a subsidiary of MTK Ltd, which works closely with production company Zydeco Studios.

Floppets UK can be contacted at info@floppets.uk.com or by calling 01444 870 111.
