Leading Spanish toy firm, Famosa, is opening up a new subsidiary in the UK.

The new office will support the distribution, sales and marketing plans for doll brands including PinyPon, Nenuco and Nancy, as well as the Feber business.

Coinciding with the opening of the new office, Famosa will also launch a new I Love Minnie licensed fashion doll line. It will also make heavy investment in the collectable mini dolls and pets line, PinyPon.

Industry veteran Paul Fogarty, from 1st Steps Sales & Marketing, will be assisting with the start up phase of the business. He will work in conjunction with the current UK team, headed by Simon McCrickard and operations by Justin Richardson.

"This is an exciting time for Famosa and we are thrilled to be coming to the UK," said Ignacio Ramos, international sales director at Famosa. "The reinvention of our key doll brands has proven to be a real hit with our home and international markets.

"We are confident that we can replicate this success in the UK market by having a local subsidiary focused on delivering the right sales and marketing programmes and customer service to support our brands."
