Board games suppliers picked up several accolades at the UK Games Expo 2013 last weekend.

And Esdevium Games stole the show with a whopping six awards out of seven.

It won Best Board Game for Mice & Mystics, Best Strategic Card Game for Lords of War, Best Abstract Game for String Railways, Best General Card Game for Smash Up, Best RPG for Star Wars and Best Miniatures Game for Star Wars X-Wing.

Coiledspring Games picked up Best Family Game for Forbidden Desert, the follow-up to Forbidden Island.

Roger Martin, Managing Director of distributor Coiledspring Games, said: "This is our fourth consecutive ‘Best Family Game Award’ at the Expo, with Forbidden Island winning the award back in 2010."

Furthermore, Gibsons Games has been honoured in the Hall of Fame at this year’s UK Games Expo.

A statement from the judging panel read: "Gibsons is the oldest board games manufacturer and publisher in the UK and is well deserving of a place in the inaugural Hall of Fame, thanks not only to their longevity but also the wide range of titles that they have brought to gamers over the generations."

Kate Armitage, Marketing Director at Gibsons, commented: "We are delighted to be honoured in the Hall of Fame and it is a privilege for us to be recognised within the gaming community as industry leaders."
