This will be the second consecutive year that the rates on the UK’s largest exhibition have been held.
To further help reduce the cost of exhibiting Emap Connect organisers have appointed Melville Exhibition and Event Services as preferred contractor for UK shows. The move will help exhibitors see greater return on investment by offering savings and improved service.
Effective from April 2010 the savings and service initiatives will include a cost reduction to all exhibitors of 10 per cent in electrical fittings and mains, the introduction of early-bird discounts for all shell accessories and an exhibitor loyalty/discount card. A new joint customer services programme will also be in place.
Louise Young, managing director of Emap Connect Home & Gift commented: “We are absolutely delighted to announce these initiatives and that for the second year running we are freezing our stand rates to benefit our customers who book into the 2011 event.
"We know from listening to our exhibitors and trade associations costs around exhibiting, especially electrics are a concern. Both Emap and Melville understand the importance of delivering value to exhibitors and in turn we recognise this will help grow our respective businesses.
“There has already been a terrific response to our first batch of exhibitor initiatives, which has so far seen 500 companies making their debut at Spring Fair in 2010. They are the creative lifeblood of our industry and we want them – like many of our long-established customers – to grow side-by-side with us. Announcing these initiatives as far in advance as possible will allow our exhibitors to plan their budgets more effectively.
“Overall bookings for Spring Fair 2010 are running at last year's level, which is very encouraging and demonstrates the steps we have so far taken have been welcomed by our customers. The effects of the initiatives announced at Autumn Fair have already been reflected in year on year bookings being 20 per cent ahead. This is leading us to 'expand' some of the faster growing sections."
Autumn Fair 2009 exhibitors who rebooked and retained their stand size were offered 10 per cent more floor space at the 2010 show free of charge and all other Autumn and Spring Fair rates are being frozen for 2010.
