A number of people in the toy business might know the story of Heidi MacDonald, who experienced a life-changing car accident aged 17.
Heidi was in a coma for almost 17 weeks and spent two years recovering in hospital, before eventually moving into a ‘wheelchair adopted’ home. Heidi has since taken up equestrian, becoming a competitive carriage driver.
This Saturday November 3rd, Heidi will be participating in the Virgin Active Indoor Triathlon to raise money for charity The Silverlining.
She is intending to undertake a 1.2 kilometre run on a treadmill, five-kilometre ride on an exercise bike and a 200-metre swim. She has so far obtained sponsorship pledges of over £1,800 – with a target of at least £2,000.
Heidi would appreciate any sponsorship you feel you can give – either before or after the event. Visit her Just Giving page to donate.
The Silverlining is a charity which encourages people with brain injuries to participate and organise challenges which have a relevance to their lives and personal experiences, in which they help themselves through active goal-setting and achievement.
