Dragon-i Toys has acquired the Hong Kong slot car and race track specialist Artin International.

The merger agreement arrives as Dragon-i Toys continues with its plans to lay a foundation for further growth in the global toy landscape, as the Artin brand joins as a new category to the firm’s portfolio.

Based in Hong Kong, Artin was established in 1965 and has since grown under the leadership of CEO Danny Ngai to become a well known brand within the slot car industry.

Following the acquisition – made for an undisclosed amount – production and sales of Artin products will resume as normal in 2015/2016.

Dragon-i toys will be showcasing the Artin portfolio at the upcoming Dallas toy Fair and this October in Hong Kong.

"We are delighted to have picked up such a globally well-known and respected brand," Dave Cave, president of Dragon-i Toys, told ToyNews. "It is a great fit for our range, as the big boys toys area is very much our main focus.

"We will be showcasing the line at the forthcoming Fall Toys Show in dallas in room 439, and it will also be on show in our Hong Kong showroom in October.

"We are looking forward to presenting the range to our network of global retail and distribution partners."
