DKL has unveiled the Wonderworld Tree Plus + Project.

From now until June 30th, for every 'like' the firm receives on its Facebook page, a new tree will be planted. The project is linked to DKL and Wonderworld's social network activity, including tweets, live feeds of pictures and blogs, all linking to Wonderworld UK stockists to help drive consumer awareness.

Each June, Wonderworld - which specialises in wooden toys - holds an event where all employees visit the forests to help plant new trees and support farmers. This year, Wonderworld will plant 17,200 trees, plus the extra ones generated from the Facebook promotion.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for retailers and consumers to join a very simple initiative, but make a huge difference to the environment," said David Allan, sales director at DKL. "And by linking this in to our social network activity will drive customers into our stockists.

"Also, every year Wonderworld calculate the amount of rubberwood used in the manufacture of their quality toys - for every tree used, one more is planted and one by the by the farmer, hence the Tree Plus + Project."
