Executives from DKL Marketing joined locals to take part in the Wonderworld Tree Plus event, where trees are planted to help communities in Thailand.

Now in its seventh year, the Wonderworld Tree Plus scheme ensures that new trees are replanted each year. It guarantees that for every rubberwood tree used to make toys, three more trees are replanted. Wonderworld works in association with local farmers, government and communities in Thailand.

DKL's sales director, David Allan, and founder Kai Hawaleschka joined locals and Wonderworld staff to help plant 7,777 trees, the largest number of trees planted to date in one session.

"Despite the monsoon rains and relenting winds which added to the experience, it was amazing to join the local communities and see them all working together to ensure the environment is secure for the future," said Allan.

Buoyed by a TRA special recognition award this year and the continued success of its Hama Beads creative line, DKL is expecting further growth in 2007 with its Corolle dolls, Viking plastic toys and Wonderworld wood ranges. Ronnie Dungan speaks to MD Kai Hawaleschka about its steady progress?
