Organisers of distributor-only show Distoy say that space is already “pretty much” sold out for 2014.
Following this year’s successful show, held last month in central London, organiser David Potter (pictured, far left) is expecting a repeat turnout for next year.
“We’ve already pretty much sold out for next year,” he told ToyNews. “[This year] genuinely has been the best yet, we very nearly doubled the amount of online registrations. The majority of exhibitors renew and I am trying to negotiate for more showroom space for both hotels.”
Now in its ninth year, the invitation-only event offers toy makers the opportunity to conduct meetings with distributors and strike deals in private behind closed doors.
Potter added: “The show tries to help form distributor partnerships. We politely don’t want retailers to come in because [distributors] can’t talk price structures comfortably. These meetings have a purpose – get it done and go.”
