Walt Disney Studios has inked a new partnership with Microsoft to bring its catalogue of current blockbuster films and classic library titles to Xbox Live Marketplace.

The deal means that US Xbox owners will have access to titles from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures and Miramax Films. They will be able to rent popular Disney films on demand as they become available such as Bridge to Terabithia (pictured), Miramax's The Queen and Deja Vu from Touchstone.

"We're always looking for more ways to let people experience our films," said Dan Cohen, executive VP of pay television and interactive media for Disney-ABC Domestic Television. "With the millions of Xbox 360 consoles in living rooms today with a direct, high-speed internet connections, Xbox Live really has become a terrific device for the delivery of digital entertainment content."

Summer Movies

This summer should be another bumper time at the cinema. Speed Racer, Iron Man and Indiana Jones have already made their mark, with Incredible Hulk, Prince Caspian, Wall-E, Batman:The Dark Knight and Clone Wars to come. And as Samantha Loveday finds out, there's the licensed product.
