Egmont is planning to launch a range of books in 2007, with more titles due in 2008 and 2009.

“Egmont has vast experience in creating innovative book ranges to complement brand new TV shows and classic evergreen properties alike,” said Sean Clarke, head of marketing and licensing at Aardman, “and we are delighted to be working with them on two of our treasured properties.”

Shaun the Sheep will debut in the UK in 2007 on CBBC. Aimed primarily at four to eight year-olds, the 40 x seven-minute series has already been picked up by co-producer WDR in Germany and has also been pre-sold to Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Belgium.
