Corgi boosts sales and marketing

Corgi has bolstered its team with former Brio marketing man Richard Hopkins and has significantly expanded its sales force with the addition of four new sales managers and an agent.
Publish date:

Hopkins (pictured) is returning to the firm after a six year absence and will initially be responsible for marketing across Europe while Alex Balzaretti is on maternity leave. His previous experience includes stints at Brio and W. Britain’s as well as at Corgi.

During his previous time at Corgi, he became general manager of ICON (Gifts and Collectables) and at Britain’s he was head of marketing (Toys) across Britain’s Petite range.

In addition, the firm has recruited four new regional sales managers and a new sales agent. Gavin Whittaker will cover the North of England, Rowena Critchlow the Central and Eastern area, James Burgess the West and South West and Marcus Hutchinson the South East and London. Julie Dorman has also been appointed sales agent for Ireland.

Dave Turner, managing director of Corgi Europe, said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard back to Corgi. He was a perfect fit for our business given his excellent commercial experience and previous roles at Brio, Britain’s and, last but not least, Corgi. He hits the ground running with a good understanding of both our toy and collectables business.

“Having just passed our 50th year milestone, it’s also pleasing to be able to announce the strengthening of our sales team. We’re confident that our new people will add real value for our Corgi customers as we continue to move forward with some superb new offerings in 2007.”
