The Trading House Europe will straddle both the toy and video games market operating in branded children’s and young adults leisure and entertainment, an area both companies have specialised in separately for five years. The management team will consist of Lance Brown from OCP and Toy Connection’s Steve Wells backed up by a sales and support team which will be working out of its offices at Micheldever.

The firm says the merger will enable it to offer a number of improvements including bigger product ranges, increased volume, better logistics, a full showroom service and increased margin opportunities.

Toy Connections’ main-shareholder David Fogel is scaling down his day to day involvement but will be continuing in the role of non-executive chairman with the new company.

Director Lance Brown told ToyNews: “Myself and Steve have been working together for a while because we can see the convergence of the two markets and it made sense for us to get together at the same time that David was stepping back.”
