Chorion previews new Mr Men show

Completed episodes from the new Mr Men Show will be unveiled to the industry for the first time at this month?s Brand Licensing.

Chorion, which owns the rights to the classic literary brand, has had a busy year readying itself for the relaunch of the Mr Men and Little Miss characters.

Fisher-Price is the master toy licensee for the new sketch-style comedy series, which has been created by LA-based Renegade Animation and will air on Cartoon Network in the US and Five in the UK next year.

Visitors to both the shows can expect to preview a number of the new-look characters as they take part in a series of comedy sketches set in the colourful Dillydale.

In addition to The Mr Men Show, Chorion will be presenting a strong portfolio of youth brands including the new animated Famous Five: On the Case and Olivia, the world’s most precocious piglet, Noddy and Eric Carle.

“We are very excited about the number of enquiries we have been receiving from interested international broadcasters and licensees for The Mr Men Show and our other wonderful children’s properties,” John Collins, senior market manager at Chorion explained to ToyNews. “Let’s hope we can announce even more high profile partners in key territories following these trade events. Watch this space.”

Pre-school favourite Olivia is making the move onto the big screen in a new show which combines 3D CGI animation with live action. A deal is already in place with Nick Jr in the US. This autumn also sees the unveiling of Famous Five: On the Case, co-produced with Marathon and Disney, which launches on the Disney Channel from spring 2008. The series, aimed at children aged seven to 11, will be preceded later this year by the launch of the new interactive website and will be supported with extensive marketing, advertising and PR.
