Chicco further strengthens customer development team

Chicco is certainly flying at the moment - the nursery specialist has enjoyed six months of consecutive growth in 2013 and a 58 per cent year on year increase in the independent sector, meaning the firm has had to further strengthen its customer development team.

Owner of the Chicco brand, Artsana UK, has hired Syrena Bacchis (pictured) to take responsibility for the indie nursery retailers in the South of England.

Natalie Jackson, Artsana national field sales manager, said: "Syrena's understanding of nationals, independents and wholesale provides her with a plethora of knowledge of various retail environments and opportunities. With her existing experience of the industry and being a mum of two young children, Syrena can identify with the products and is already supporting her retailers with her excellent customer-focused approach.

"Artsana is going from strength to strength across both nursery and toys via great products, promotions, a major brand campaign and excellent Christmas consumer toy activity."

Recent NPD data puts the Chicco brand up 14 per cent in nursery and a very healthy 94 per cent in toys.
