The range had previously been handled in the UK by sales agent John Maitland but will be taken over by Character on January 1st. In the meantime, however, Character is hoping to bring out a line of licensed Dr Who Supermag kits featuring the Tardis, Daleks and Cybermen in time for Christmas.

It will be the first of a number of different licensed versions of the product which the firms intends to create

“The product is superb and if you look at it versus everything else in the market, it has a number of USPs which make it second to none,” said Character Options, marketing manager, Jerry Healy (pictured).

“We want to establish it as a quality brand which has longevity over a number of years. It’s a competitive niche but we believe that this has key advantages over other products on the market.”

Healy also promised heavyweight marketing support for the range, included sustained TV support of both the classic Supermag and the new licensed lines.
