Toy retailer Captain Neil’s Toy Chest has been awarded with the Pride of Wellingborough Award, due to its excellent customer service.

The toy store received the most votes in a competition designed to find Wellingborough’s favourite shop, restaurant and pub, in a bid to encourage more people to shop locally.

Organised by Wellingborough Business Improvement District, a weekly review of each participating business was posted on the Discover Wellingborough website, where shoppers were asked to vote for their favourite.

Neil Waite, owner of Captain Neil’s Toy Chest, said in a video recorded message: “In all honesty thank you all so much for your votes, this really truly means a lot to me.

“And it’s not just for the people who voted, the people who actually shared it on their Facebook page to drum up more support for the Toy Chest and get us more votes. I’m speechless.

“Thank you for this, I’m glad you have made the right choice, because yes we are the best, thank you. “
