US firm Cadaco is bringing its Enviroblox range to the UK market, launching in Hamleys.
Hamleys will host demonstrations at its flagship Regent Street store to show customers the how they can build with Enviroblox, which can be cut, shaped or moulded into just about any kind of design. Demonstrations will run initially from May 22nd until June 26th.
A five-metre-long T-Rex built entirely from Enviroblox will also be on display at the store.
Enviroblox is a bio-degradable building activity made from cornstarch using a patented manufacturing process and materials – no plastic or oil-based materials are used during manufacture. The blocks are entirely adaptable; simply moisten an one with water for a firm, instant hold, no tape or glue needed.
When the time comes to discard them you can simply place them in water and watch them disappear, or in home composting bins.
"Enviroblox offer parents a ‘green’ option for building toys without sacrificing any of the classic fun that children love," said John Lindsay, president of Cadaco.
"After a great response from American families in 2008, we are committed to bringing this innovative, environmentally-friendly product to the entire world, starting with the United Kingdom."
