Build-A-Bear kicks off licensing programme

Firm inks deal with Performance Brands to represent the licensing rights.

The Build-A-Bear Workshop offers children the chance to build themselves a custom-made stuffed animal. There are over 30 to choose from, along with a variety of outfits and accessories.

There are over 50 stores in the UK and more in mainland Europe. Turnover last year was close to $485 million.

Performance Brands has already expanded its kid's brand portfolio by signing new properties including Planet Cook and Numberjacks. The Build-A-Bear brand follows its policy of only working with kid's brands which encourage learning and social interaction in children.
