Breyer is galloping ahead with its plans for international expansion with the launch of a collection of model horses based on popular and rare British breeds.
Inspired by the specimens on show at this year’s British Equestrian Trade Association Show, the new collection is the first of several country-specific Breyer models, designed to pay tribute to native breeds.
Breyer’s exclusive UK distributor, DKL Marketing will introduce the collection at BETA – held on February 22nd to 24th this year at Birmingham’s NEC – for the first time.
“As part of our international expansion, we have been working towards these special collections,” said Stephanie Macejko, vice president of marketing and product development for Breyer.
“It was only natural to begin with the UK, the first country we launched Breyer in outside of the US. It is a country filled with horse lovers and so many rare breeds. It seems fitting that we launch our Best of British collection in 2015, our 65th anniversary year.”
A collection of Stablemates British Ponies and Draught Horses including a Suffolk Punch and Clydesdale alongside a Highland Pony and a Shetland Pony, will be the first out of the gate.
The first swathe will be followed by three collectable Traditional scale models, including a Welsh Cob, a Connemara Pony and a Shetland Pony. Three further models will arrive this autumn.
During the Birmingham show, DKL will also debut new 2015 introductions from Breyer’s Horse Play collections of Classics, Stablemates, Pony Gals and accessories, as well as its traditional range.
The new 2015 Breyer range includes new accessories as well as horse and books sets from British rider, Pippa Funnell and British racing legend, Frankel.
“We are very excited to launch the Best of British collection this year,” added Kai Hawaleschka, managing director at DKL Marketing.
“Breyer is the number one name on world-wide collectable model horses and accessories and I am pleased that DKL will have a wonderful new collection to bring to market in 2015.”
