A London-themed version of classic detective board game Cluedo will hit shelves tomorrow (Wednesday, November 20th).
And at 1pm today a Boris Johnson lookalike is launching London Cluedo at Westminster, by College Green. He will be wearing a cycle helmet, holding London Cluedo under one arm and waving a giant candlestick towards Westminster with the other.
Props at the photo call include a giant 5ft sq replice of the London Cluedo board.
The product, from Winning Moves UK and licensed by Hasbro, is the UK's first regional Cluedo board game, and features six new London characters like The Mayor and The Therapist in place of the original's Colonel Mustard and Mrs White respectively.
The Houses of Parliament, Covent Garden and seven other famous London locations replace the original Cluedo rooms such as the study and the library.
Next year another city edition of Cluedo will roll out in the UK. Ten places have been shortlisted, including Edinburgh, Cardiff and Birmingham, and a public poll will decide the winner next year.
This morning, commuters were treated to Cluedo street art outside key rail stations and tourist areas. Also, actor 'detectives' were handing out whodunnit tips to passers by, telling them to meet at 1pm at Westminster.
“The public has been asking us for some time to do regionalised Cluedo,” said Winning Moves UK Chairman Tom Liddell.
“And with the 2012 buzz around London, we are now delighted to oblige. We have very exciting plans to roll out other regional Cluedos across the UK and Ireland too.”
