Factory Entertainment has been awarded a worldwide licence to produce a range of Beatles and Yellow Submarine die-cast collectible models.

Already at the design stage, the range will use illustrations and styles inspired both by classic Beatles imagery and by the legendary Yellow Submarine song and film.

The first models in the range will be buses and taxis at different scales. However, provision is being made to expand the range to meet expected high demand. The global nature of the agreement will also allow Factory Entertainment to develop territory-specific programmes.

The range will be available from 2010. Its initial core target market will be collectors and pop culture enthusiasts, although it is expected to have a wide-ranging appeal across most age groups.

Factory Entertainment’s range of products includes toys and collectibles.

The firm's strong background in distribution and familiarity with the Beatles brand through an earlier range of products produced by the PopCo Group, was the reason why Caroline Mickler Limited, which is implementing the Beatles brand licensing strategy on behalf of Apple Corps, announced this year that Factory Entertainment was to take over the distribution of the existing line of Beatles die-cast vehicles.

That line has now been superseded by the new range, to be designed and distributed by Factory itself.
