Bigjigs has announced its intention to break the Guinness World Record for the 'Longest Wooden Toy Train Track'.

The current world record for the longest wooden toy train track stands at 1,650 metres, achieved by a team of Japanese builders in 2006. Bigjigs is hoping to smash that record by building a 2,012 metre wooden toy train track.

Bigjigs staff members will be taking on the challenge Chatham Dockyard, Kent on Thursday July 26th.

The company estimates that it will need 10,000 track pieces to achieve the feat.
