Bigjigs in top ten Christmas toy giveaway

The wooden toy maker is giving ten toys away in the run up to Christmas.

Bigjigs is giving away one of its top ten toys each day from December 1st on its Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages.

Bigjigs said: "Each year we have more and more great toys to choose from; this year it has been particularly hard this year to pick our top 10 because there are so many favourites and deserving toys.

"All of these toys provide fun and entertainment whilst aiding the development of important skills needed for healthy growth. The price range varies but they all offer great value for money because of their long life span."

In total, over £350 worth of product is being given away. Here's Bigjigs' top ten Christmas toys:

10. Rolling Shape Sorter

This brightly coloured rolling shape sorter encourages kids to put the shaped blocks in the corresponding slots. When it's rolled along the floor it makes a clacking sound.

9. Cutting Fruit Set

This wooden toy set aims to teach children the importance of healthy eating. A banana, apple, strawberry and other treats can be cut in half with the included wooden knife and chopping board.

8. Pirate Skittles

This swashbuckling bowling set is suitable for indoor or outdoor play. Includes six pirates and a brightly coloured ball.

7. Chunky Alphabet Puzzle

This puzzle was featured in the Guardian's 2012 Christmas Gift Guide and retails at £13.99.

6. Figure of Eight Train Set

This best-selling 40-piece train set comes complete with viaducts, a colourful train engine and carriages. Additionall accessories include wooden houses, shrubbery and figurines.

5. Triangular Activity Centre

This Slow Toy Awards winner features an abacus on one side, wooden letter/picture blocks on another and a blackboard on he third.

For kids aged over one, it's an educational toy which Bigjigs says will stand the test of time.

4. Blossom Cottage

This dolls house comes with a four-piece doll family and 18 pieces of furniture allowing kids to create their own home.

3. Art Easel

This stand up board has a whiteboard on one face and a blackboard on the other. Included with the easel is a paper roll, which can be fixed to one side of the board, four paint pots, a board eraser and a box of coloured chalk.

2. Town & Country Train Set

This 101-piece set contains plenty of wooden track and accessories including bridges, crossings and railway stations as well as trees, boats, vehicles, buildings and figurines.

1. Fairview Manor

This manor house with a pink and cream exterior, opens out to reveal four fully furnished rooms along with a hinged roof to the attic.

Complete with functional doors and windows incorporating a sliding patio door. Kids can make their ideal home with 26 pieces of furnitures for the six-piece doll family who also come with a cat and dog to look after.

Fairview Manor recently won an award at the prestigious Oppenheim Award in the USA.
