A number of toy companies will be reporting their second quarter earnings this week.
Hasbro will be announcing its figures later on today. Analysts are expecting the company to report earnings of 17 cents a share for the second quarter. Back in February, Hasbro reported the highest net earnings in its history for its full year 2006 buoyed by the growth of its core brands.
The company recorded net earnings of $230.1 million, making 2006 Hasbro's sixth consecutive year of earnings growth. Transformers, Monopoly, Playskool and Littlest Pet Shop all contributed to the growth. Spiderman toys are likely to have bolstered the company for the most recent period.
Jakks Pacific is due to announce its second quarter and first six months results on Wednesday July 25th, while Newell Rubbermaid - which used to own Little Tikes and boasts Graco nursery products amongst its portfolio - will reveal its Q2 figures on Thursday July 26th.
