Independent games company, Big Potato has secured an exclusive new deal with US retailer Target and for its raft of popular party titles.

Obama Llama and Mister Lister’s Quiz Shootout are among the titles to be available exclusively at the US-wide retailer from this month.

The exclusive deal arrives less than one year since Big Potato struck a US and Canada distribution deal for its popular trivia game, Linkee with Bananagrams Inc.

The firm has now highlighted its plans to deliver Big Potato’s wider portfolio of games that also includes Bucket of Doom and Scrawl to the territory.

Commenting on the firm’s move into the states and the expanded partnership with Bananagrams, Dean Tempest, joint founder of Big Potato, said: “Bananas and potatoes are not most people’s go to food combination, but when it comes to games companies, it’s a match made in heaven.

“Working with Bananagrams has been like hanging out with our hero – who thankfully hasn’t issued us with a restraining order, but taken us under its wing and shown us around America like a great guide, introducing us to the best people and showing us the important places to be.”

Bananagrams’ UK-based CEO, Rena Nathanson, added: “We are thrilled to further cultivate our relationship with Big Potato.

“2016 marks the 10th anniversary of Bananagrams, the game that started it all for us, and we’re continuously evolving and looking for ways to grow our portfolio both internally and with creative partners that share our vision.

“Fun and fresh, Obama Llama, Mr Lister’s Quiz Shootout, Bucket of Doom and Scrawl are the perfect compliment to our world renowned word and tile game portfolio, as well as our first venture into the world of party games.”
