The company, which is ran by Lianne Bertelli won the award back in November 2011 and attended the inaugural #SBS award ceremony at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on March 30th to pick up the gong.
Small Business Sunday (shortened to #SBS) on Twitter, was created by Theo Paphitis in October 2010. Each Sunday, Paphitis rewards small businesses who tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet.
Hundreds of businesses tweet the Dragon every week and he reviews each tweet and rewards his favourite six businesses with a retweet.
Theo is followed by over a quarter of a million people on twitter and his aim is to support small businesses by getting their name and business out there and creating a support network of businesses nationwide.
Bertelli Communications is a consumer PR agency which has several clients across the UK including Maps Toys and Little Bird Told Me. The firm works with companies to launch new products, raise brand awareness and handle their ongoing media relations.
Bertelli commented: "Since winning our #SBS award in November, we have increased our social media following as well as our profile and have been appointed by three new clients who contacted us purely because of our association with the #SBS award scheme.
"As a small business ourselves, we work with like-minded companies to raise their brand awareness and Theo’s input has been invaluable at building our own. As a PR company, its scandalous that we often forget to promote ourselves."
Bertelli Communications will now be featured on Theo’s brand new website www.theopaphitissbs.com. Along with other winners, Bertelli can now access a range of new business opportunities and business support.
She continued: "When I entered the #SBS awards I honestly didn’t think much of it but the response and support we have received from Theo and his company Ryman Stationery has been amazing. I’d urge all small businesses to get tweeting."
Meanwhile, the company has recently taken on a new client, Carddies, which has tasked Bertelli with promoting the launch of its new and existing lines.
