Batman boost for Mattel

Mattel is confident that increased exposure of Warner Bros' animation, The Batman, for which it holds the master toy licence, will give the toy range a significant boost.
Publish date:

The series has already been on Toonami but Warner has just inked a major broadcast deal with the BBC, for daily weekday airings on BBC1, BBC2 and CBBC.

Mattel?s brand manager Llyr Lewis commented: "The Batman is a great proposition and has seen great success on Toonami, its fantastic news that now more children can tune in. The 4.30pm slot on BBC1 alone will ensure huge numbers of boys aged 4 to 9 will be tuning in daily to the show, which is very exciting for us. The feedback on our toy line has been strong from the outset and things will just keep getting better as awareness soars."

Mattel's toy line incorporates figures, vehicles and play-sets with a heavyweight TV and marketing campaign scheduled pre-Christmas.

High hopes for Mattel

With the licence already set to become an unexpected Chrstmas success, Mattel is bringing forward the release of its DVD board game of Disney’s surprise teen hit, High School Musical.
