Bandai expands Tamagotchi

Bandai brand named best selling toy in the UK for the third year in a row, according to NPD Data.

Sales figures show 70 million pieces have been sold worldwide since the product’s launch in 1997.

Bandai expands the brand this year to include Tamagotchi Familitchi, which gives players three on-screen characters to nurture and raise.

Available from January 24th, the product includes new games, designs and game-play options. The infra-red function has also been updated.

The firm has also launched a corresponding virtual world, which allows players to chat and play games. To view the website click here.
