The owner of Vuly Trampolines, one of Australia's premier trampoline companies, has been nominated as Young Businessperson of the Year in this year's Lord Mayor's Business Awards.

Joe Andon has been nominated by renowned Australian business magnate, Sarina Russo after releasing a unique leafspring trampoline this year.

Ms Russo said: "Joe is revolutionising the global trampoline market with his leaf spring trampoline. We all remember as kids jumping on a trampoline and getting a nasty pinch from those tight coil springs.

"Parents are going to love this extra safety feature. Joe's an inspiration to young people everywhere."

The Awards are Brisbane's gala event for recognising business talent in the city, and 24 year old Andon is thrilled with his nomination.

"It's really exciting that someone who has been as successful in business as Sarina has nominated me for the award," said Andon.

"Vuly has been in my life since I was 19 when I started the company from my parents' house on the bayside. Since 2008, we have worked tirelessly to make trampolines safer and more affordable for Aussie families."

Vuly Trampolines launched internationally this year.
