Asobi has welcomed a new commercial manager to the company as the firm continues its plans for growth and development throughout the New Year.

David Bottomley brings to his new position a wealth of knowledge in the toy industry having previously held the role of UK sales director at Hasbro.

Bottomley was also a founding partner in Trends UK, one of the country's largest producers of science toys.

Asobi has enjoyed year-on-year growth since its launch five years ago. This year the firm has taken on various new brands including Vilac and Red Tool Box.

Bottomley said: "I am thrilled to have joined the team at Asobi. I truly admire Thierry's passion and commitment to toys that inspire and with my knowledge and love of the industry, I think we will make a great team.

"2014 is already looking to be an incredibly busy year for us and it all kicks off at Toy Fair in January where we look forward to unveiling some exciting brands."

Thierry Bourret, founder and MD of Asobi, added: "I am delighted to have David on board. The past couple of years have been a whirlwind and I don't think my feet have touched the ground as I have been committed to supporting my company's exciting developments.

"Taking on Seedling in 2012 firmly put us on the map and opened doors to some key retailers and following the agreements with iconic French brand, Vilac and American born Radio Flyer things have really taken off.

"There is even more in the pipeline for 2014 making it the ideal time to bring in David and his unsurpassed knowledge."
