Toy distributor Asobi has become the exclusive UK supplier of Sonny Angels figurines.

The Japanese collectables have already enjoyed success in France where over 100,000 figurines were sold in a few months.

Sonny Angels consists of 73 different 10cm figurines. They are sold in blind boxes so the consumer doesn’t know which figure they will get. Some rare versions have been known to sell for almost £1,000 on eBay.

The Sonny Angels creators only allow 100 retailers to stock the dolls in Japan, where half a million units have been sold to date.

Asobi founder Thierry Bourret said: “I am really excited about Sonny Angels and delighted to be offering something really different to the UK market. It seems the Sonny Angel fans are extremely loyal and I am sure this collectors club will continue to grow as the figurines become available in the UK.”

Asobi will launch the Sonny Angels line at the Pulse trade show next week.
