The deal will see Asobi become the exclusive distributor for retail distribution in the UK and Ireland.
GeoToys main brand is GeoPuzzle, a range of jigsaws depicting different continents where each piece is a country.
Asobi will launch the European GeoPuzzle immediately, and will add North & South America, Africa and Asia before the end of the year.
GeoToys was established by entrepreneur Bob Galinsky in 2004. Galinsky said:
“Since we launched the GeoPuzzle concept it has attracted a lot of interest from the UK and Ireland. I am delighted that we have concluded this agreement with Asobi.
“We manufactured our first European order in 2008, for Finland of all places. Through our agent we are now looking to extend this distribution into the other major European markets.”
Geotoys has sold over $1 million of GeoPuzzles at retail in North America and has won mulitple educational toy awards, including Dr. Toy and Creative Child magazine accolades.
The firm recently featured on YouTube when a two year-old boy, was shown recalling names of countries and their capitals, that he had learned from playing with GeoPuzzles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jXSR1xdcPE
GeoPuzzles are manufactured in Germany from recycled cardboard and the European version will reach the UK in June.
