Artist creates humanoid sculptures from toy parts

A artist has found an alternative use for old toys and dolls, transforming them into 'three-dimensional humanoid sculptures'.

From bordering on the bizarre to something straight from Guillermo del Toro's worst nightmares, the sculptures - created by Freya Jobbins - incorporate limbs and body parts from some of the world's most popular dolls and action figures to create models reminiscent of human faces.

Jobbins first embarked on her project as a comment on consumer culture, reports the Huffington Post.

"My work explores the relationship between consumerist ftishism and the emerging recycling culture within the visual arts," Jobbins explained.
