Arklu has launched a Robot Girl Lottie doll and Busy Lizzie the Robot accessory set to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day.

Ada Lovelace Day took place yesterday, and celebrated the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths.

The doll and accessory set has been designed to 'encourage and inspire young girls to develop an interest in robotics, and an early appreciation of Science, Maths, Technology and Engineering (S.T.E.M) in a practical, hands-on manner.'

Robot Girl Lottie is competing in a Science Fair and decides to build a robot that can do all her household chores. She wears blue jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt, a blue hoodie with a metallic atomic design on the front, as well as a baseball cap, glasses and Converse-style trainers.

The Busy Lizzie the Robot accessory set packaging also includes suggestions for kids to get ‘hands-on’ with robots, including a mini-biography of Erin Kennedy, the Canadian robotics role-model, and information about Kathy Ceceri, US award-winning author of Robotics.

Busy Lizzie the Robot also has interactive plugin elements so that the arms and headpieces are interchangeable.

The new additions continue the 'pro girl' message of the Lottie dolls, which is 'positive role modelling through play, in terms of self-image perception.'
