AR Drone 2.0 now controlled with a click of the fingers

Video shows drone controlled with Myo armband, a system that registers electrical activity from muscle movement.

Parrot, the team behind the AR Drone 2.0 Quadricopter has released a new video demonstrating a futuristic piloting method of its popular flying gadget.

Using the Myo armband from Thalmic Labs, the drone is controlled using Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy technology, reacting to signals transmitted by human gestures such as a click of the fingers.

The Myo armband measures the electrical activity from your muscles to detect what gestures your hand is making. It also senses all of the motions and rotations of your hand and forearm.

The armband works with Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

The armband is currently available to pre-order from Thalmic Labs for $149.

A full app for this support is planned for launch in the second half of this year.
