The first Air Swimmers clip, which shows the Flying Shark and Clownfish designs teasing the American public, now has over 2.5 million views and was voted the favourite Science and Technology video for August on YouTube.

A second video (watch it below) sees the Shark Air Swimmer taking a cat by surprise, and has over 500,000 hits.

Richard North, MD of Wow Stuff, said: "We're blown away with the response Air Swimmers has received on YouTube this week. Having spent 18 months secretly working on the toy we had a feeling it would be a blockbuster this Christmas but this has gone beyond our wildest expectations.

"Showing Air Swimmers to the public is the ultimate test for Wow Stuff, watching their faces on YouTube as they swim through the air has been fantastic. One of our other Christmas toys My Keepon was developed following phenomenal response online and the samples on this will go out shortly."
