UK toy firm Addo Play have announced their first nomination for the MadeForMums awards, with its Nickelodeon XPERImake, which has received a shortlist spot for the Best Science Toy Category.

News of being shortlisted in the Made for Mums Toy Awards comes a few weeks after learning that Addo Play have also been shortlisted for Best Licensed Toy for their Nick Jr. Ready Steady Dough Range at the Licensing Awards 2017.

“We are very excited to have been shortlisted in these awards," said Amelia Naylor, product development and marketing executive at Addo. "With EXPERImake only just being available to buy at The Entertainer we are thrilled that these prestigious awards have recognised the huge amount of work that we have put into this line. The Nickelodeon license is the perfect tie in for our Science Brand and the Sludge and Slime set is sure to be a big seller in store for us this Autumn. Let’s hope it will be a winner in the made For Mums Toy Awards too!”

Meanwhile, Smart Toys is celebrating a double nomination with SmartGames' Little Red Riding Hood joining the shortlist for the Best Puzzle Award, while the SmartMax My First Animal Train has gained a nomination for the Best Construction/Building Toy prize.

“With every product we create there are two clear priorities, to be both fun and educational," commented Karen Clarke, brand director of Smart Toys and Games. "The simple, yet effective designs of both SmartMax and SmartGames enables children of all ages to engage with the product whilst nurturing key areas of development. We are thrilled to have been shortlisted, and are excited to hear the results!”
