Accent-guessing party game, Accentuate has its sights on global expansion, following an investment of £45k from Dragons’ Den’s Peter Jones.

The party game inventing duo triumphed in last week’s episode of BBC’s Dragons’ Den when it persuaded the long-term personality on the show to invest in its plans to take the business global.

Accentuate now has its sights firmly on expansion, with plans to enter the German game market, following a positive reception to its US version of the game.

With the funding from the Dragon, Graeme Fraser-Bell and business partner and sister, Fiona will be investing in new advertising opportunities in the UK, the US before developing a German version of the accent-guessing party game.

“We have seen strong sales in the US after the states version shipped out there in May this year,” Graeme Fraser-Bell told ToyNews.

“We really capitalized on that when Mark Wahlberg and Seth McFarlane were filmed playing the game on CapitalFm the other week.

“Now, we want to take it further. The next market for us is Germany.”

With a population of 83 million people, with up to 17 different accents, the market presents a very attractive prospect for the team.

“If you think of the EU 28, the population of Europe is 520 million people, of which 83 million are in Germany,” he continued.

“There are also 15 to 17 very distinct accents in Germany, and we have heard from a number of people that it could go down very well there, it would be the largest single market for us, with a lot of accent variation.”
