Accent-guessing party game Accentuate has triumphed on Dragons' Den to secure £45,000 in backing from show veteran Peter Jones.

Brother and sister inventing duo Graeme and Fiona Fraser-Bell talked themselves to success in last night’s episode of BBC’s Dragon’s Den to win the favour of Peter Jones for a 40 per cent stake in the business.

The deal struck will see Jones’ stake reduce to 25 per cent once the original investment is repaid, and the Dragon famed for previous investments in board game titles, will now help the Fraser-Bells market global editions of the game, as well as a range of expansion packs.

The first of the expansions to the original game will be a Film Quotes edition, featuring 90 iconic lines from an array of famous movies and will hit the shelves of John Lewis and Firebox.com next month.

“I’m not easily fazed, but that was by far one of the most frenzied experiences of my life,” said Graeme Fraser-Bell.

“We entered the Den full of confidence, excited to get the Dragons mimicking accents and seeing how the cringe-factor can work brilliantly in a party game. Yet the highs and lows were some of the most dramatic I have ever felt – those guys really put us through our paces.”

The pair emerged triumphant despite a barrage of tough questioning from all five of the Dragons, and managed to pique the interest of numerous investors.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Peter has seen the potential of Accentuate in the growing ‘games for badults’ sector,” added Graeme Fraser-Bell.

BBC Dragon, Peter Jones, added: “It is fair to say I gave Graeme and Fiona a tough time in the Den, but could see from their pitch that they have the passion and drive to make Accentuate a great success, plus it’s a great party game.

“There is a lot of potential with the ideas they have in the pipeline and I see valuable synergies with previous investments I have made. They’ve had a good first year, they’re an energetic and enthusiastic pair and I am looking forward to helping them take the Accentuate concept to the next level.”

Accentuate is available from John Lewis, Firebox.com, Amazon and AccentuateGames.com and is priced at £19.99. The new Film Quotes expansion pack is available from August priced at £8.99.
