2017 Bananagrams Challenge names UK finalists

12 finalists are heading to this year’s grand final for the Bananagrams Challenge.

Over 50,000 UK primary school children took part in the challenge, which is now in its third year, and will see the UK’s Top Banana crowned on April 29th 2017.

The 12 finalists include:

1. Ethan Saiprasad, aged 11, Wokingham

2. James Chapman, aged nine, Kingston

3. Cara Dote, aged nine, Ashton Under Lyne

4. Shanae Lee, aged 11, North London

5. Solomon Kendrick, aged 11, Hove

6. Victor Redondo, aged nine, North London

7. Zoe Nicholls, aged 10, Melton Mowbray

8. Freya Woodward, aged 10, Kendal

9. Izzy Maybury, aged 11, Stourbridge

10. Kian Siadatan, aged 11, Deal

11. Anouska Wedrychowski, aged nine, Bucks

12. Lily Stuart, aged 10, Worcester

“Each year The Bananagrams Challenge gets bigger and better, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to encourage 50,000 children to have fun with words. I’m really looking forward to meeting the finalists on April 29th," said Rena Nathanson, CEO of Bananagrams.

“The Challenge is one of the highlights of our marketing calendar and is proving to be an incredibly effective way of reaching children and their families, creating new life-long fans of the game.”

The challenge is open to children aged from seven to 11 years old, who are encouraged to ‘go wild with words’ against their classmates in a series of Bananagrams games.
