2014 to mark 'largest ever' Spielwarenmesse as Hall 3A opens for baby products

Fair team increases event size with Hall 3A and new layout accomodating demand for baby and infant products

Spielwarenmesse 2014 is billed to be 'its largest event ever' increasing its exhibition space with the opening of Hall 3A and a new layout.

The expansion of the annual event follows the increased demand for baby and infant products.

Now in its 65th year, the event will accommodate the rise in demand by opening Hall 3A up for dolls, wooden toys and craft works, Hall 1 for soft toys and Halls 1, 2 and 3 for baby and infant articles.

The redesign and extension of the offerings for baby and infant products will now provide buyers with the platform for extending their own range according to their customers needs.

The school articles, stationery and creative design products will be exhibited in the same space as the educational toys, both being showcased in Hall 4.

Hall 9 will now be available to the festival articles and carnival product group.

"The demand for baby and infant articles has greatly increased in recent years and is continuing to grow. We have decided to extend the space in order to accommodate this development," said Ernst Kick, chairman of the board of Spielwarenmesse.

"The range will now feature baby equipment in addition to toys. With everything from buggies, nursery furniture and accessories to car seats, trade visitors can expect a new spectrum of products for infants."

Sabine Schrenk, head of marketing and PP, Kiddy GmbH, added: “We are delighted that Spielwarenmesse has enlarged the area devoted to products for babies and toddlers, and look forward to attracting new groups of international visitors at the fair.

"We are taking part at Spielwarenmesse for the first time, because we have noted an increasing trend in the overlap between toys and articles for babies and toddlers.”

With 170,000 m2 of exhibition space, the 65th Spielwarenmesse will be the largest ever when the toy industry meets in Nuremberg from 29th January to 3rd February 2014.
